All work and no play makes..!

    Ravi was a brilliant student and he had won many prizes for academic excellence. Ram was his classmate. Although Ram was good at extracurricular activities like quiz, basketball, and dramatics. 

   At the end of the college, many multinational companies visited their college to recruit the best students.

   The entire college was very sure that Ravi would be selected because of his extraordinary academic performance. But finally, Ram was selected. Ravi was very angry and demanded an explanation to the person who conducted the interview.

    The person who conducted the interview told Ravi ′It is true that you have better scores. But bookish knowledge alone will not help you to perform well in an organization. Ram has better exposure to the world in terms of general knowledge′. 

   ′Moreover as a sportsman he has learned the value of sharing and team effort. We don′t want a person who is just brilliant. We want someone who can learn, share and inspire others to perform. This is the reason why we selected him′. 

   There is a valuable lesson to be learned from this. Every one of us should take time off to equip ourselves with other skills apart from the work.

     ரவி ஒரு புத்திசாலி மாணவன் மற்றும் கல்வியில் சிறந்து விளங்கியதற்காக பல பரிசுகளை வென்றுள்ளார். ராம் அவரது வகுப்பு தோழர். ராம், வினாடி வினா, கூடைப்பந்து மற்றும் நாடகவியல் போன்ற பாடத்திட்டம் சாரா துறையில் சிறந்து விளங்கினார்.

   கல்லூரியின் முடிவில், பல பன்னாட்டு நிறுவனங்கள் சிறந்த மாணவர்களை தேர்வு செய்ய கல்லூரிக்கு வருகை தந்தன.

   முழு கல்லூரியும் ரவியின் அசாதாரணமான கல்வி செயல்திறனால் அவர் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்படுவார் என்று நம்பியது. ஆனால் இறுதியாக, ராம் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார். ரவி மிகவும் கோபமடைந்து நேர்காணல் நடத்தியவரிடம் விளக்கம் கேட்டார். 

      நேர்காணல் நடத்தியவர் ரவியிடம், 'நீங்கள் சிறந்த மதிப்பெண்களைப் பெற்றது உண்மை தான். ஆனால், ஒரு நிறுவனத்தில் நன்கு செயல்பட புத்தக அறிவு மட்டும் உங்களுக்கு உதவாது. பொது அறிவின் அடிப்படையில் ராமிற்கு சிறந்த வெளிப்பாடு உள்ளது".

     'மேலும் அவர் ஒரு விளையாட்டு வீரராக இருப்பதால், பங்கீடு மற்றும் அணி முயற்சியின் மதிப்பை அவர் கற்று கொண்டிருப்பார். புத்திசாலியாக மட்டும் இருப்பவர் எங்களுக்கு வேண்டாம். ஒரு விஷயத்தை கற்றுக் கொண்டு, பகிர்ந்து, அதை செயற்படுத்த மற்றவர்களை ஊக்குவிக்கும் ஒரு நபர் தான் எங்களுக்கு வேண்டும்". நாங்கள் அவரைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்ததற்கு இதுவே காரணம் என்று கூறினார். 

   இதிலிருந்து கற்றுக்கொள்ள ஒரு மதிப்புமிக்க பாடம் உள்ளது. நம்முடைய வேலையை தவிர்த்து மற்ற திறமைகளுடன் நம்மை முன்னேற்றிக்கொள்ள வேண்டிய நேரத்தை நம்மில் ஒவ்வொருவரும் ஒதுக்க வேண்டும்.
