எலி வளையானாலும் தனி வளை வேண்டும்

The House..!

         Once a rat that was feeling bored, came out of its hole to see the world. It went to a garden where it saw a big cat and got frightened and hide under a big leaf that was the dwelling place of a tortoise. The tortoise yelled at the rat, ′What are you doing here?′.

        The rat fled from there in search of another shelter. On the way, the rat crossed a gardener′s feet. The gardener shouted at rat, ′What are you doing here? Go back to your home′.

      The rat fled away from there and reached its hole, took a sigh of relief and thought, ′East or West, home is the best′.

      ஒருமுறை எலி சலிப்பாக உணர்ந்த போது, உலகத்தை பார்க்க அதனுடைய துளையிலிருந்து வெளியே வந்தது. எலி ஒரு தோட்டத்திற்கு சென்றது அங்கே ஒரு பெரிய பூனையைக் கண்டதும் பயந்து போய், ஒரு பெரிய இலையின் கீழ் மறைந்துக் கொண்டது, அந்த இடம் ஆமையின் இருப்பிடமாகும். ஆமை எலியை நோக்கி, 'நீ இங்கே என்ன செய்கிறாய்?" என்று கத்தியது. 

            எலி அங்கிருந்து வேறொரு தங்குமிடத்தை தேடிச் சென்றது. செல்லும் வழியில் ஒரு தோட்டக்காரனின் கால்களை கடந்துச் சென்றது. அப்போது தோட்டக்காரன் அதைப் பார்த்து, 'நீ இங்கே என்ன செய்கிறாய்? உன் வீட்டிற்குத் திரும்பிப் போ" என்றான்.

     எலி அங்கிருந்து ஓடி சென்று, அதனுடைய துளையை அடைந்து, நிம்மதியாக பெருமூச்சு விட்டு 'எலி வளையானாலும் தனி வளை வேண்டும்" என்று நினைத்தது.
