Once, a rich lady having no child. She decided to adopt a girl child. For this, she gave advertisements in various newspapers. Many poor women came to sell their daughters to her.
The rich lady gave some money to all the women. She told them to go to the market and buy their favourite things.
On returning, all the women showed the things that they had bought to the rich lady. Most of them had bought ribbons, clothes and other things for themselves. But one poor girl had bought a prayer book and a needle.
The rich lady got impressed with the poor girl. Rich girls pointed to that poor girl and said, this girls really knew the essence of worship and hard work.

திரும்பி வரும்போது, எல்லா பெண்களும் பணக்கார பெண்மணியிடம் அவர்கள் வாங்கிய பொருட்களைக் காட்டினர். அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலானோர் நாடாக்கள், ஆடைகள் மற்றும் தங்களுக்கான மற்றப் பொருட்களையும் வாங்கினர். ஆனால் ஒரு ஏழைப் பெண் ஒரு பிரார்த்தனை புத்தகத்தையும் ஒரு ஊசியையும் வாங்கியிருந்தாள்.
