The Needle Tree..!
Once two brothers who lived on the edge of a forest. The elder brother feels very mean to his younger brother. The elder brother will wear his good clothes. One day, the elder brother went into the forest to take some firewood to sell in the market. He cuts the branches of each tree, finally, he came to the magic tree.
The tree said to him, ′Sir, please do not cut my branches. If you spare me, I will give you my golden apples′. The elder brother agreed but he was concerned that the magic tree did not give him a lot of apples. He threatened the tree to cut the entire trunk if the tree didn′t give him more apples. The magical tree instead showered upon the elder brother hundreds of tiny needles. The elder brother fell on the floor and cried.
The younger brother went in search of his elder brother. He saw hundreds of needles on his skin. He rushed to his brother and removed each needle with painstaking love. After he took the needles, the elder brother apologized for treating him badly. That magic tree saw the change in the older brother′s mind and gave them all the golden apples they could ever need.
ஒருமுறை காட்டின் விளிம்பில் இரண்டு சகோதரர்கள் வாழ்ந்து வந்தனர். மூத்த சகோதரர் இளைய சகோதரரை மிகவும் இழிவாக கருதுவான். அவனுடைய நல்ல உடைகளை மூத்த சகோதரன் உடுத்திக் கொள்வான். ஒரு நாள், மூத்த சகோதரர் சந்தையில் விற்க, சில விறகுகளை எடுக்க காட்டிற்குச் சென்றான். அவன் ஒவ்வொரு மரத்தின் கிளைகளையும் வெட்டினான், இறுதியாக, அவன் மந்திர மரத்தின் பக்கத்தில் வந்தான்.
அந்த மரம் அவனிடம், 'ஐயா, தயவுசெய்து என் கிளைகளை வெட்ட வேண்டாம், நீங்கள் என்னை விட்டுவிட்டால், நான் உங்களுக்கு என் தங்க ஆப்பிள்களைக் கொடுப்பேன்" என்றது. மூத்த சகோதரன் ஒப்புக்கொண்டான், ஆனால் அந்த மந்திர மரம் அவனுக்கு எண்ணற்ற ஆப்பிள்களை கொடுக்கவில்லை என்றால் என்ன செய்வது என்ற கவலை அவனுக்கு இருந்தது. மரம் அவனுக்கு அதிகமான ஆப்பிள்களைக் கொடுக்காவிட்டால், அந்த முழு மரத்தையும் வெட்டுவதாக அவன் அந்த மரத்தை அச்சுறுத்தினான். அதற்கு பதிலாக மந்திர மரம் மூத்த சகோதரர் மீது நூற்றுக்கணக்கான சிறு ஊசிகளை பொழிந்தது. மூத்த சகோதரன் வலியுடன் தரையில் விழுந்து அழுதான்.
இளைய சகோதரன் அவனது மூத்த சகோதரனை தேடி சென்றான். அவன் அவனுடைய தோல் மீது நூறு ஊசிகள் இருப்பதைப் பார்த்தான். அவன் தனது சகோதரரிடம் விரைந்து சென்று, ஒவ்வொரு ஊசியையும் மிகக் கவனமாக அன்போடு அகற்றினான். அவன் ஊசிகளை எடுத்த பிறகு, மூத்த சகோதரன் அவனை மோசமாக நடத்தியதற்காக மன்னிப்பு கேட்டான். அந்த மந்திர மரம் மூத்த சகோதரனின் மனதில் ஏற்பட்ட மாற்றத்தை பார்த்தது மற்றும் அவர்களுக்கு தேவையான எல்லா தங்க ஆப்பிள்களையும் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தது.
