Once the bee-keeper went to the market for some urgent work. The bees had also gone to collect honey. There is no one to protect the hives.
Unfortunately, a thief came there and broke into the apiary. There was no one, the thief stole the whole honey and took it to his house.
When the bee-keeper returned, he was upset to see all the bee-hives empty. Then the bees brought a lot of honey to their mouth. It saw the hives are broken. They assumed the bee-keeper as the robber as he was standing near to the hives. So, it attacked him with a sting.
The beekeeper said, ′You must punish the thief before punishing me′. Then the bees realized the truth. The bees have apologized to the beekeeper for their mistake.

ஒருமுறை தேனீ வளர்ப்பவர் ஒரு நல்ல தேனீப்பண்னையை உருவாக்கினார். அவர் தேனீக்களை நன்றாக பார்த்துக் கொண்டார் மற்றும் தேனீக்கள் தேன் கூட்டில் நிறைய தேன்களை சேகரித்தது.
ஒருமுறை தேனீ வளர்ப்பவர் சில அவசர வேலையாக சந்தைக்கு சென்றார். தேனீயும் தேன்களை சேகரிக்க சென்று விட்டன. தேனீக்கூட்டை பாதுகாக்க யாரும் இல்லை.
துர்திருஷ்டவசமாக, ஒரு திருடன் அங்கு வந்து தேனீ கூட்டை உடைத்துவிட்டான். அங்கு யாரும் இல்லை, திருடன் தேன் முழுவதையும் திருடி, தன் வீட்டிற்கு எடுத்துச் சென்றான்.
தேனீ வளர்ப்பவர் திரும்பி வந்தபோது, அனைத்து தேனீ கூடும் காலியாக இருந்ததைக் கண்டு மனமுடைந்து போனார். அப்போது தேனீக்கள் தங்கள் வாய் நிறைய தேன்களை கொண்டு வந்தது. அது தேனீக் கூடு உடைந்து இருப்பதை பார்த்தது. தேனீ வளர்ப்பவர் தேனீ கூட்டிற்கு அருகில் நின்று கொண்டிருந்ததால் அவர் தான் திருடன் என்று அவைகள் நினைத்தன. அதனால் அவரை கொடுக்கினால் கடுமையாக தாக்கியது.
தேனீ வளர்ப்பவர், 'நீங்கள் என்னை தண்டிப்பதற்கு முன் திருடனை தண்டித்திருக்க வெண்டும்" என்று கூறினார். பிறகு தேனீக்கள் உண்மையை உணர்ந்தது. தேனீக்கள் அவைகள் செய்த தவறுக்காக தேனீ வளர்ப்பவரிடம் மன்னிப்பு கேட்டது.
