எப்போதும் எச்சரிக்கையாக இருங்கள்

Always Stay Alert

        Once upon a time, there was a lion that grew so old that he was unable to kill any prey for his food. So, he said to himself, I must do something to stay my stomach else I will die of starvation. An idea appears in the mind of lion.

      He decided to lie down in the cave pretending to be ill and then who-so-ever will come to inquire about his health, will become his prey. The lion put his wicked plan into practice and it started working. Many fell prey to the lion. But the plan did not stand.

       One day, a fox came to visit the ailing lion. As foxes are clever by nature, the fox stood at the mouth of the cave and looked about. His sixth sense worked and he came to know the reality.

        So, he called out to the lion from outside and said, How are you, sir?. The lion replied, I am not feeling well at all. But why don't you come inside?. Then the fox replied, "I would love to come in, sir! But on seeing all footprints going to your cave and none coming out, I would be foolish enough to come in". Saying so, the fox went to forest to alert the other animals.

Moral: Always keep your eyes open and stay alert before walking in any situation.

எப்போதும் எச்சரிக்கையாக இருங்கள்

      ஒரு காட்டில், ஒரு சிங்கம் ஒன்று வாழ்ந்து வந்தது. அந்த சிங்கத்திற்கு வயதானதால் எந்த விலங்குகளையும் வேட்டையாட முடியவில்லை. தன் வயிற்றை காப்பாற்ற தான் எதாவது செய்ய வேண்டும் இல்லையெனில் பட்டினியால் இறந்துவிடக்கூடும் என்று சிங்கம் தனக்குத்தானே சொல்லிக்கொண்டது. சிங்கத்தின் மனதில் ஒரு யோசனை தோன்றியது.

      சிங்கம் நோயுற்றது போல் குகைக்குள் படுத்துக் கொள்ளத் தீர்மானித்தது, பின்னர் அதனுடைய உடல்நிலையை பற்றி விசாரிப்பதற்கு யாரேனும் வந்தால், சிங்கம் அதனை இரையாக்க முடிவு செய்தது. சிங்கம் தனது பொல்லாத திட்டத்தை நடைமுறைக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தது, அது செயல்படத் தொடங்கியது. பலரும் சிங்கத்திற்கு இரையாகினர். ஆனால் அத்திட்டம் நிலைக்கவில்லை.

    ஒருநாள் நரி சிங்கத்தைப் பார்க்க வந்தது. இயற்கையாகவே நரிகள் புத்தகசாலி. நரி குகை வாசலில் நின்று சிறிதுநேரம் யோசித்தது. நரியின் மூளையில் எச்சரிக்கை மணி அடிக்கத் தொடங்கியது.

          நரி குகையின் வெளியே நின்று கொண்டே நலம் விசாரித்தது. உடனே சிங்கம், " எனக்கு உடல்நிலை மிகவும் மோசமாக உள்ளது. நீ உள்ளே வந்து பேசு" என்றது.

        உடனே நரி, " பரவாயில்லை ஐயா. எனக்கு உள்ளே வர விருப்பம்தான். ஆனால், இந்த குகையின் உள்ளே செல்லும் காலடி தடங்கள் எவையும் வெளியே வரவில்லை. ஆதலால் உள்ளே வர நான் முட்டாள் இல்லை" எனக் கூறிக்கொண்டே வந்தவழியே திரும்பியது. காட்டில் உள்ள அனைத்து விலங்குகளையும் எச்சரித்தது.
