Can a tree give directions?
If you ever get lost in the forest, take a hard look at the trees. in the northern hemisphere, the tree has more leaves and branches on its southern side. The tops of the trees also lean to the south. The bark of trees is lighter and brighter on the south side, too. But the moss growing at the base of the tree will always point to the north.
Who used Handkerchiefs first?
Who else, but the Romans? They ordinarily wore two handkerchiefs - one on the left wrist and one tucked in the waist or around the neck. The handkerchief was again rediscovered during the time of the renaissance and was for a time allowed only to the nobility!
